“Message could not be sent because the server rejected the sender’s email address. The sender’s email address was (my email address)”. The server error listed is 530 (0x800CCC78) – authentication required. I’m attempting to setup email from yahoo as a feed through Windows Live Mail. The server designations suggested by my ISP are incomming server: pop.mail.yahoo.com (port is 110). The outgoing server: smtp.mail.yahoo.com (port is 25)

You’re using the wrong server settings. You need to upgrade to Yahoo Mail Plus and use these settings:

Incoming mail server settings

POP server: pop.mail.yahoo.com
Use SSL
Port: 995

Outgoing mail server (SMTP) settings

SMTP server: smtp.mail.yahoo.com
Use SSL
Port: 465

Use authentication

Account Name/Login Name: Your Yahoo! Mail ID (your email address without the “@domain.com”, for example, “jo.bloggs”)
Email Address: Your Yahoo! Mail address (for example, jo.bloggs@yahoo.com)
Password: Your Yahoo! Mail password
