incoming email pop3 or iMP outgoing smtp? authentication? … i'm sending an email to my dr and before i send it they are asking these questions what is my incoming email pop3 or imp and my outgoing mail smtp and authentication

Il mio server smtp è impostato su smtp.mail.yahoo.com ma non riesco a ricevere alcuna e-mail. Un amico mi ha detto che la porta potrebbe essere sbagliata. La mia porta è impostata su 25. Qualche suggerimento?.

SMTP mail server set up?

SMTP mail server set up? … I setup my yahoo mail with outlook 2003, following are my setup;
Incoming mail server (POP3): plus.pop.mail.yahoo.com port 995
Outgoing mail server (SMTP): plus.smtp.mail.yahoo.com ; port 465
The strange thing is my recieveing incoming mail is okay, but out going mail was fail. I need help on how to fix this problem.

In order to use a separate email program, such as Outlook, Outlook Express, Windows Mail, or Thunderbird, with Yahoo Mail you need POP3. It is free in the UK, AU, and NZ but in the US you must pay for Yahoo Mail Plus. It is also required when you try to transfer the mail using smtp or pop3 to another online email. When you do you can set the servers as follows:
Incoming (pop3)
US – plus.pop.mail.yahoo.com SSL 995
UK – pop.mail.yahoo.co.uk SSL 995
AU and NZ – pop.mail.yahoo.com.au SSL 995
Outgoing (smtp)
US – plus.smtp.mail.yahoo.com 465 TLS
UK – smpt.mail.yahoo.co.uk SSL 465 TLS
AU and NZ – smpt.mail.yahoo.com.au SSL 465 TLS

NOTE: The same servers are used for ymail and rocketmail. Use the entire email address as the Yahoo ID.

You can also look at the program Ypops. I have no recommendation for or against.

Se si desidera inserire Yahoo! Mail Plus in Outlook 2002 o 2003 o successivo, ecco come fare:

Dal menu Strumenti, selezionare "Account e-mail"."
Selezionare il pulsante di opzione accanto a "Aggiungi un nuovo account e-mail" e fare clic sul pulsante "Avanti".
Selezionare il pulsante di opzione accanto a "POP3" e fare clic sul pulsante "Avanti".
Immettere le seguenti informazioni: Informazioni sull'utente

Nome: Inserire il proprio nome come si desidera che appaia nel campo "Da" dei messaggi in uscita.
Indirizzo e-mail: Inserire l'indirizzo completo di Yahoo! Mail (ad esempio, "user@yahoo.com").
Informazioni sul server

Server di posta in arrivo (POP3): plus.pop.mail.yahoo.com
Server di posta in uscita (SMTP): plus.smtp.mail.yahoo.com
Informazioni di accesso

Nome utente: Inserire il proprio ID Yahoo! (l'indirizzo e-mail senza "@yahoo.com").
Password: inserire la password di Yahoo!.
Non selezionare la casella accanto a "Accedi utilizzando l'autenticazione con password sicura (SPA)"."

Fare clic sulla scheda “Avanzate”.
In “Server in entrata (POP3)”, selezionare la casella accanto a “Questo server richiede una connessione criptata (SSL)". Il numero di porta nel campo “Server in entrata (POP3)" dovrebbe cambiare automaticamente da 110 a 995. Se così non fosse, accertarsi che il numero di porta sia impostato su 995. In caso contrario, accertarsi che il numero di porta sia impostato su 995.
IMPORTANTE-> In “Server in uscita (SMTP)”, selezionare la casella accanto a “Questo server richiede una connessione criptata (SSL)“. Inserire il numero di porta ”465“ nel campo ”Server in uscita (SMTP)".
Se si desidera conservare una copia dei messaggi e-mail sul server di Yahoo! Mail, fare clic sulla scheda "Avanzate". Selezionare la casella accanto a "Lascia una copia dei messaggi sul server". Se si desidera eliminare i messaggi dal server Yahoo! Mail dopo averli visualizzati in Outlook, non selezionare la casella.
Fare clic sul pulsante "OK".
Fare clic sul pulsante "Avanti" nella procedura guidata dell'account e-mail, quindi fare clic su "Fine"."
