Почему последние 2 недели я получаю именно это сообщение, время от времени нажимая на тему письма, чтобы открыть его?
Сообщение имело бы смысл, если бы я вошел в свой аккаунт и оставался неактивным долгое время (т.е. не использовал его), но это происходит ПОСЛЕ того, как я только вошел в свой аккаунт ???

I can see a "red cross" next to "Log onto incoming mail server (POP3)" with status as "Failed", regardless of typing the correct password.

In order to use an email client to send and receive Yahoo! Mail messages, you must designate a new incoming (POP) mail server and a new outgoing (SMTP) mail server.
If you can't add new POP or SMTP servers, you'll need to change your current server settings. Write down your current settings first — you may need to revert to your original settings later if you decide to send and receive messages from your other email addresses.
Here are the basic server settings for Yahoo! Mail:
Incoming Mail (POP3) Server: pop.mail.yahoo.com
Outgoing Mail (SMTP) Server: smtp.mail.yahoo.com (use authentication, optionally use port 587)
Account Name/Login Name: your Yahoo! Mail ID (your email address without the "@yahoo.com")
Email Address: your Yahoo! Mail address (e.g., user@yahoo.com)
Password: your Yahoo! Mail password
Please note that if your client does not support SMTP authentication, you will not be able to use it to access your Yahoo! Mail messages.
HMMM. Do you want a conspiracy theory? I've got a conspiracy theory. I've had odd instances of these "session expirations" occurring when accessing controversial messages. I was suspicious of them and tried changing server by switching to a new window and doing the same thing with ca. at the start of the URL and without logging in again found the session had not expired, at all. It just wasn't being watched. The extra security layer was not in place on the other server.
All these additional log ins do is note who and when certain information is being viewed on certain servers. Key words or phrases set off monitor programs and the log in screen tags the instance.

Yahoo uses time sensitive cookies. If you block cookies, I suggest you allow them for the current session only. On many browsers look under Tools or Preferences or Edit; then Privacy or Settings; then Cookies. OR, I suspect the time on yer computer clock is somewhat slower than what Yahoo has. Try resetting your time at Control Panel, Date & Time, Apply.

click tools / internet options / privacy tab = default cookies setting is set to medium always or you can select accept all cookies / to make enable session cookies / click on advanced button / check override automatic cookie handling / first party and third party cookies should be accepted / and then check always allow session cookies / then ok / close internet options…

I get that too, i've emailed yahoo and never got a reply back also keep getting it on btopenworld.com
yahoo is knackered at the moment. Don't worry, we are all in the same boat.
